Disney Words of Wonder is a Scrabble-inspired journey where players help Watson the Owl restore color to a cursed storybook using the power of words to unlock bonuses and win. As Art Director at Disney Interactive, I led all aspects of the product, including environment and character design, animation, UI, and marketing.
We created a lovable owl named Watson, along with other characters (thanks to Lizette Biancalana). I directed the entire process, working with designers, artists, and animators to finalize the designs, produce Halloween video content, and even 3D figurines. Watson also has a companion, Wilma, whose design is shown below. Animation courtesy of Eric Cerda.

Alongside the two protagonists, we designed a cast of characters who guide you through the world as guardians of these realms. These fantastical worlds unfold node by node, each reveal adding surprising animations to enrich the journey.

As Art Director, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty—especially on this project. I used Maya to explore different angles and compositions, speeding up production while staying creative. Bringing these designs to life was such a rewarding process!

Below are some UI assets I helped design and direct, ensuring they captured the feel of an illuminated manuscript. We incorporated leather and gold accents to give the UI an authentic, classic touch.
